WE ARE COMPETING!
In the spirit of popular weight loss competitions, more than 3,200 competitors across the United States will battle it out to see who can reduce their energy use the most. The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) will recognize an Overall Winner, determined by the percentage-based reduction in energy used achieved from 2013 to 2014. Energy use in commercial buildings like ours account for nearly 20 percent of total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions and energy use at a cost of more than $100 billion per year. On average, 30 percent of the energy used in commercial buildings is wasted.
Help us reduce our energy use! Learn how to go green at home and with your banking the last Friday of every month during Green Friday open house. Take advantage of our electronic friendly services like eStatements, Mobile Banking and eTouch24 Internet Banking. Keep up with our progress as we approach the midway mark and weigh-in by visiting our website or see how we pair up to the rest of the competitors at www.energystar.gov/battleofthebuildings.
